The AFCHIX TechWomen Summit is an event hosted alongside the annual Africa
Internet Summit (AIS) and convenes African women in technology to discuss issues
around women and ICT.
The theme for this year’s event is “Rising Together” and it will include presentations on
and panel discussions by experts on topics such as:
- Cutting through the gender divide
- Encouraging African women in technology and community-building: The role of NGOs
- The importance of the Female Role Model: The source of inspiration
- Community Networks and the future for African women
- Career paths for young women: Technology trends: Blockchain, IoT, big data, machine learning, cyber security, smart grid
We shall crown the day with a cocktail and networking event.
The Objectives of the Summit are:
- Provide a platform for African women in technology to learn from each other through various summit sessions.
- Provide opportunities for networking and inspiration for African Women in Technology 3. Strengthen the AFCHIX Network through increased visibility of AFCHIX’s work
and programs.

- Women already working in the Information Technology, Computer Science and related sectors.
- Women entrepreneurs who are aligning to their businesses.
- Female university or college students taking Information Technology and Computer Science courses.
- Young girls in high school who would like to learn more about careers in Information Technology and Computer Science.
