The AFCHIX community strives to make every member feel welcome and important. We embrace our diversity and celebrate each other’s successes. Sisterhood ties our members and Chapters together to create a network of women that provides mentoring, encouragement, and support.
Seminars to inform girls in secondary school about careers in STEM.
Digital literacy workshops for women and girls deprived of access to and knowledge about computers and the internet.
Technical workshops to teach girls and women ICT-related skills such as coding, systems administration, network design, and web design.
Online seminars to build the capacity of women in niche technical areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, big data, and cyber security.
National conferences targeting girls and women interested in or working in ICT.
Hosting discussions and conversations between women in tech to create a network to support each other.
AFCHIX has active Chapters in Kenya, Senegal, Morocco, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Ethiopia, Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Chad, and Tunisia.
If you would like to become a Chapter member or find out more about its activities, reach out to admin@afchix.org to get in touch with your local AFCHIX Chapter Coordinator. You can also get involved as a volunteer, donor, or partner.
AFCHIX wants to reach as many girls and women as possible and we encourage the formation of new National Chapters. Our mother organisation is a registered company in Kenya and guides the establishment of new National Chapters. AFCHIX promotes our National Chapters and mobilises resources to support them. However, Chapters are expected to mobilise their own resources for their national activities.
A group of between 5 and 10 women can establish a National AFCHIX Chapter. Inform admin@afchix.org of your formal interest in starting a chapter for further guidance on the process.

AFCHIX knows that we can achieve more when we work alongside other organisations that share our passion to close the digital gender divide. We have collaborated with development institutions, educational institutions, corporates, NGOs, and individuals on projects reaching across the continent or targeting single communities.
Get in touch with us if you or your organisation would like to support our work by sharing your ideas, skills, resources, or infrastructure with AFCHIX and our Chapters or if you would like to contribute to funding an AFCHIX project or event.
